Based in Rockdale, Texas, New Breed Racing is a Quick Rod drag racing
team in the IHRA (International Hot Rod Association) Nitro Jam Drag Racing
Series and Pro-Am Tour. The racing operation was started in 2001 by Duane
and Lisa Gerthe. Their daughter Alesi Gerthe drives a Mullis Dragster and
their son Ayrton Gerthe drives a Cameron Dragster, each powered by a
Chevy. They both compete in IHRA Quick Rod (8.90 Index). The duo began
their racing careers in the jr. dragster ranks of the IHRA. In 2005, Hoosier
Thunder Motorsports team owner’s Terry & Rhonda McMillen and the
InstiGator Funny Car team began a program with the IHRA, Adopt-A-Jr.
Dragster, and chose Alesi and Ayrton to mentor. This program is a way for
professional driver’s and teams to give back to drag racing by teaching the
younger generation of drag racer’s how to promote, market, and strive
toward a future in the drag racing industry. The team is a member of Hoosier
Thunder Motorsports, a multi-car drag racing team based in Elkhart, Indiana.
This alliance has numerous benefits, professional team racing in both top
fuel and alcohol funny car, sportsman racing in quick rod, and it reaches all
generations of motorsports fans with a 5-car team. Team members include
Terry McMillen,
Paul Noakes, Jack Todd, and Alesi and Ayrton Gerthe.  The
team travels to events in their transporter complete with living quarters
which also includes a 50' stacker trailer with lift.
